     Margaret L. Kuehne, age 85, Waite Park, MN went home to be with Jesus on Saturday, September 1, 2012 at her daughter’s home in Wyoming, MN.
     Funeral services celebrating her life will be Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Redeemer Lutheran Church, St. Cloud, MN. Pastor Bruce Timm will officiate. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 4, 2012 (Today) from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN and one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Burial will be in Springbrook Cemetery, Swanville, MN.
     Margaret was born July 13, 1927 in Swanville, MN to Theodore and Alvina (Steinke) Stapel. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Swanville where on May 12, 1946 she was united in marriage to John E. Kuehne. St. Cloud became their home in 1947, and Margaret spent the next 65 years being a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and dear friend to many. As a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, she taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and was a member of Evening Guild and Rachel-Naomi Circle; but her greatest joy was singing with the church choir which she did beautifully for many years.
     Survivors include her sons and daughters, James Brown of Middle Grove, New York; Joanne (Edwin) Lundgren of Mahtomedi, MN; Rev. Steven (Susan) Kuehne of Faribault, MN; Connie (Barry) Nordby of Wyoming, MN; Patricia (Carl) Heine of Warrenville, IL; and Terry (Gerald) Grinde of Hutchinson, MN; 24 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren called her “Grandma”.
     She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, John on January 6, 2011, one sister, Edna Swanson.
     Memorials are preferred to Prince of Peace Lutheran School.
