James Loren Neil, age 85, St. Cloud, MN, died Sunday, June 24, 2012 at Veterans Administration Medical Center, St. Cloud, MN.
Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, July 2, 2012 at 10:30 AM at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, St. Cloud, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Interment will be in Assumption Cemetery, St. Cloud, MN. Funeral arrangements were made by Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN.
James was born August 31, 1926 in St. Cloud, MN to Roy A. and Ethel M. (Thompson) Neil. He graduated from St. Cloud Technical High School and served in the United States Navy during World War II. On July 25, 1949 James married Angeline J. Vouk in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Sauk Rapids, MN. James worked for Neil Electric and then became owner of the business in 1961. James has lived in St. Cloud his entire life. He was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church, an active member of Alcoholics Anonymous, celebrating 35 years of sobriety, and a life time member of St. Cloud VFW Post #428. James was known for his strong work ethic.
Survivors include his wife, Angeline Neil of St. Cloud, MN; sons and daughter, Mark (Alice) Neil of St. Cloud, MN; Brian Neil of Minneapolis, MN; Kevin (Beth) Neil of Sartell, MN; Susan (Len) Fruth of Clearwater, MN: sisters, Patricia Petrie of Crystal, MN; Joanne Husby of Richfield, MN; Frances Neil of Albuquerque, NM; and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Vicki Neil on April 30, 2002. |
